Creative, conscientious, intuitive.... Don Corne has
always had an eye for design.
"I was always looking how I could decorate or remodel
things in other peoples homes growing up."
He pursued a degree in Sociology from East Carolina
University with a minor in music. Always having creative
projects was a must - regardless of what was going on
professionally. From arts and crafts, refinishing furniture, to
doing interior design in his own home or family and friends.
Eventually that passion led him to pursue interior design
professionally. Taking some college coursework in interior
design helped combine those natural skills with some
necessary tools to help others reach their goals.
"It's the combination of using the analytical problem solving
skills along with the endless creative abilities that gives me
such a desire to do interior design. I can be crunching
numbers, measuring, and drawing a floor plan one day,
then working with fabrics, colors and coming up with ideas
the next."
"People ask me all the time if I have a difficult time putting
my own tastes into others' designs. I have such an
appreciation for so many styles. That's another thing I
enjoy about this business. I get to explore and work
around so much creativity. Even if I don't see it in my living
room doesn't mean I can't appreciate it and see it in
someone elses."
Don is an active member of the Designer Society of America
where he serves as Communications Co-Chair of the local
chapter - DSA Triangle NC.
He is also an Affiliate member the Home Builders
Association of Wake County.
